It identifies six "wicked problems and exquisite dilemmas", including feeling like an imposter without medical knowledge, differing experiences in clinical settings, feeling disconnected from their original discipline, students tuning out due to their non-clinical background, uncertainty about career development, and lack of support and training for teaching roles. Research suggests these educators often feel marginalized and isolated. The document calls for discussion on addressing these issues through faculty development, networking opportunities, and further research.
The document summarizes counseling services offered by TCL Counseling Services. It provides individual counseling, workshops, and referrals to students experiencing difficulties. Individual counseling involves private talks with a counselor to define goals and increase coping skills. Workshops focus on skill-building in areas like stress management. Referrals connect students to resources for needs like housing, abuse assistance, or long-term counseling. Counseling is available for any persistent concern and can benefit students by helping them meet goals and improve relationships while reducing issues like depression. Counseling is free and confidential for current TCL students.
Local Support for Online Learners with Possible Learning DisadvantagesTorstein Rekkedal

The document discusses support for online learners with potential learning disabilities. It notes that an estimated 10% of vocational students have severe reading/writing disabilities. While technology can benefit those with disabilities, not all students can access it. The document advocates for individualized distance learning combined with local support and guidance in a "learning room" setting. Interviews found that this approach works better than online-only or classroom learning for many rehabilitation students, providing flexibility and addressing anxiety from prior school experiences. Students and case managers believe the learning room model effectively supports returning to work.
