This document discusses lighting techniques for photography. It notes that front lighting works well to show expressions by illuminating the subject while also creating shadow effects. The author plans to use similar front lighting for an upcoming studio shoot to place shadows behind objects on a white background, like a black PS3, so viewers can clearly see what is being photographed.

1. This picture works well because there is a good amount of light coming from the front to show his
expressions. The lighting in this video is good because it lights up the front of the person and then it
gives a good shadow effect. I will be using this kind of light for when I do my studio shoot due to the fact
that I want some shadow behind the object that I will be placing there, for example I might have a black
PS3 which would work well with the white background. The front light is good because it will light up the
object from the front so the viewer will be able to see what it is.
