SUMMER 2014
In his law does he meditate day
and night...and brings forth fruit
Ps. 1:2,3
ADULTS
Discovery in Theology Chapel
Many people would really like to know more about the Bible, but when they are con-
fronted with reading it, they become aware of an acute problemthey don't know
where to start. Also, many fine Christians try earnestly to read the Bible but find it
difficult to understand and thus, it is dull. Because of this, many people justify not
reading the Bible by saying they have no time, so they will leave it to the ministers and
scholars.
The shocking truth is God gave the Bible to us for the personal use of the man on the
street, the housewife, the blue-collar worker, the student and on and on. Surely the God
Who created both the Bible and the Bible student can provide a way to make His Word
understandable and practical to all of us.
This is why we have begun the Journey Series. It is a study into the Word of God and
how to apply it to your life where you are right now. Please come and join our study
as we follow our Journey through life.

Adult Bible Fellowship (adults of all ages) Rm. 207
We would all agree that one of the most IMPORTANT activities a believer is involved in is
Prayer. Andrew Murray said, Christ meant prayer to BE the great power by which His
Church should do its work and that the neglect of prayer is the great reason the church
LACKS greater power over the masses in Christian and in heathen countries.
The disciples pathway to effective prayer is not a call to some mystical or theoretical enlight-
enment. Rather, prayer for the true disciple of Jesus Christ is a growing dimension of deep
person-to-person communication with the Almighty Creator of the universe. It involves a
combination of worship, fellowship and intercession. The fact of the matter is that prayer is
preeminently learnable. It is not intended to be mysterious, but instead, always practical.
In this study well look at the seven basic steps of prayer as outlined by Jesus when instruct-
ing His disciples how to pray. Well seek to discover several keys to effective asking in pray-
er and in attacking through prayer. Throughout this study on effective prayer, well discover
that to live in the spirit of prayer is to learn to walk daily in the presence of Jesus! Always.
