A survey of procurement professionals found that nearly half spend at least one day per week away from the office on business trips. Close to a quarter spend over half their time each month on the road. Additionally, about a third indicated they spend at least half their time on their smartphones even when in the office due to busy schedules. Over two-thirds of respondents actively communicate with suppliers using their smartphones and nearly three-quarters are already smartphone users. The findings suggest that mobile access to up-to-date supplier information has become the new expectation for procurement professionals.
