The Syrian civil war began in 2011 with protests against President Assad's rule. Over time, various international actors have become involved in Syria's conflict. In 2019, the US and Turkey agreed to a ceasefire in northern Syria, but Turkey later launched a military operation against Kurdish forces after the US withdrew troops from the region. The timeline shows the evolving roles of international players in Syria's ongoing civil war over the past decade.
