High School Team Leader/Alternative Learning Centers Coordinator Managed eight teachers, both regular education and
special education, as well as the students in the districts public separate high school. Wrote the high school schedule based on
student graduation needs. Monitored compliance for all high school special education records, as well as facilitating Individual
Educational Plan (IEP) meetings. Divided and monitored caseloads among the special education staff. Trained staff on use of
EASi IEP program. Developed and implemented a point and level system for the school, as well as individual behavior
intervention plans for students. Served as Special Education Chairperson for the school.
Athens Drive HS, Raleigh, NC | August 2011 June 2012
Alternative Learning Center Teacher/District Coordinator Designed, implemented, and facilitate the Alternative Learning
Centers (ALC) in all middle and high schools for the 16th
largest school district in the nation. Programing goals are to decrease
suspensions, increase graduation rates/grades, and develop relationships with disengaged students. Awarded grant of over
$4000.00 to train and implement 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens for the program. Facilitate monthly Professional Learning
Team (PLT) meetings with the Alternative Learning Center teachers, providing trainings as needed. Developed and monitor data
collection tool (google doc) for the ALC programs and report the data to the School Board. Implemented and ran the
Alternative Learning Center at Athens Drive High School. Facilitated the placement team and meetings, maintained daily
contact with parents and staff, provided direct instruction as needed, and maintained academic/behavioral records for all the
students that accessed the program.
Human Resources, Cary, NC | December 2010-June 2011
Beginning Teacher Support Program Coordinating Teacher for Special Programs Supported and mentored 100% of the special
education beginning teachers that were referred to the program. Coordinated yearlong trainings for the beginning teachers by
collaborating with other teams within the Wake County School System. Designed and monitored a Wiki for the beginning
special education teachers. Provided individual plans for several beginning teachers regarding classroom management,
organizational issues, and caseload management.

School Based Coordinating Teacher, Western Area Worked with and supported six middle and high schools regarding
compliance and training on a new IEP system for the school district. Monitored compliance at multiple schools as needed as

arranged staff development within the allotted budget.

Special Education Teacher- Modified Curriculum for students identified as intellectually disabled (mild) to emotionally disabled.
Implemented a reading program for the special needs population. Developed a behavior modification program for the school
that targeted repeat long-term suspended students.
