Tacopina has represented many high-profile clients in his career, including former NYPD officer Kenneth Moreno and Sopranos actor Lillo Brancato, and he has regularly been outspoken in defense of his clients.
Rodriguez is appealing a 211-game suspension from Major League Baseball. He is accused of using performance-enhancing drugs and obstructing the investigation into his alleged drug use. Tacopina, who is working with three other lawyers on the Rodriguez case, has said that each member of the legal team is working to his strengths. In late 2013, Tacopina appeared on television shows such as ESPNs Mike and Mike and NBCs TODAY, and he publicly accused Rodriguezs former team, the New York Yankees, of withholding medical information from Rodriguez during the 2012 playoffs.
