The poem contrasts a time of war and conflict with a time of peace. In the first stanza, the land is described as gloomy and dark with war raging on every inch. In the second stanza, a dove lands and sings, depicting a calm and bright day where the sun shines away dread and fright. The final stanza calls for nations to gather together in friendship so that peace may last forever.

1. May Peace Last Forever
As conflicts and fights rose constantly,
Humanity dissolved and was forgotten gradually.
Gloomy day, so dark, so depressing!
On every inch of the land war is raging.
As the snow white dove flutters its wings,
Lands on an olive branch and sings,
Lovely day, so calm, so bright!
The dazzling sun shines away dread, and fright.
Hold on to compassion, to kindness, and to love.
For only those sweet and virtuous will live,
Like shimmering diamonds, never give.
Lets gather!
And our friendship shall never waver.
Let all nations come together!
And may peace last forever.
