The Taj Mahal is a tomb built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child. The building is located in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, blending elements of Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian architectural styles.
