Design thinking can be broadly applied in fields involving computer products, web services, and user interfaces. It is necessary for such fields to apply design thinking principles to understand users, map processes, get feedback, and iterate on designs. This helps ensure the user interface and processes are easy to understand and attract customers. Many successful web services today used design thinking and prototyping to address real needs, like services for extracurricular activities, transportation, and more. Design thinking helps develop solutions that truly help others.
2. List of 3 learnings
• I learned: about people I interact with
(colleagues and others) via Empathize.
• Understanding Space and Process.
• Mapping of a process and thinking different
Ideas by getting into the problems via
Feedbacks.
4. How broadly can design thinking be
applied in my stream of work?
• It’s a necessity, as my stream is working with computer based
products and web services, design UI and design over process are
checked well.
• If the UI or the process is wrong, we attain lack in the interest of our
customers.
• As Web services are growing well enough to offer dynamic services
based upon a click of phone/internet devices, we’ve got
opportunity to present the stuff in a way to attract customers.
• Entrepreneurships are leading to various web services existing
today like, proclass.in (for extra curricular activities of children),
autowale.in (providing a service to call up autowalas in a city in
India), Hopon.in (a service for helping in commutation purposes in
Bengaluru - India); hence these sites were achieved only by design
thinking and prototyping for the cause.
• Helping others would help us in one or the other way for sure.
5. Thanks
Thanks to Leticia Ma’m for listening to
pleas/excuse of students though she wasn’t
responsible for it. I should take my
responsibility and lead the torch passed to
me.
