Reason of Choice
? Tokyo would be an inspirational choice to host the
2020 Olympic Games, While there's plenty to keep
you occupied in Tokyo for days, the urge to get
out and explore beyond the city limits should not
be ignored. The city's a great base for numerous
day trips including visits to the iconic a popular
vacation destination for Tokyo residents and the
home of Tosho-go, the astonishing shrine to the
first Tokugawa shogun Ieyasu; the ancient city of
Kamakura which has great historical and cultural
sights; and Yokohama, a port city with an
international character all its own—it's home to
the country's largest Chinatown. And all of the
shops and games that never came to America.

Destination Description

? An experience that I will never forget and
always remember to look for the sites that
I always wanted to go see. And have a
great time with friends and experience the
joy and happiness that I will have on my
trip.

Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku Hotel

? This Tokyo hotel is conveniently located across
the street from Shinjuku Station.

located in the busy Shinjuku business district of
Tokyo, Japan. Newly renovated in 2007.
? At the confluence of corporate skyscrapers and

public transportation, which is just minutes away by
foot. Shop one of the many department stores or

Asakusa Shrine

? Asakusa Shrine, also known as Sanja-sama
("Shrine of the Three gods"), is one of the most
famous Shinto shrines in Tokyo, Japan. Located in
Asakusa, the shrine honors the three men who
founded the Sensō-ji. Asakusa Shrine is part of a
larger grouping of sacred buildings in the area. It
can be found on the east side of the Sensō-ji down
a street marked by a large stone torii.

Meiji Jingu
? After the emperor's death in 1912, the
Japanese Diet passed a resolution to
commemorate his role in the Meiji
Restoration. An iris garden in an area of
Tokyo where Emperor Meiji and Empress
Shōken had been known to visit was
chosen as the building's location

Super Potato
? Super Potato - probably the most retro
chain of game stores in Japan. The
Akihabara Super Potato has 3 floors
which are dedicated to games throughout
time - everything from the Famicom to
PS3. You can even pick up some
Nintendo Game Watch.

Chidorigafuchi
? Each year, the National Cherry Blossom
Festival celebrates Chidorigafuchi spring the
gift of the cherry blossom trees, and the
enduring friendship between the people of
the United States and Japan. The Festival
produces and coordinates daily events
featuring diverse and creative programming
promoting traditional and contemporary arts
and culture, natural beauty, and community
spirit. Events are primarily free and open to
the public.

Tokyo Tower
? Tokyo Tower is a communications and
observation tower located in Shiba Park,
Minato, Tokyo, Japan. At 333 metres
(1,093 ft), it is the second-tallest artificial
structure in Japan. The structure is an
Eiffel Tower-inspired lattice tower that is
painted white and international orange to
comply with air safety regulations.
