DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be
read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.
GENERAL INFORMATION
TALISMA EC is a liquid grain protectant with broad-spectrum insecticidal activity for the control of INSECTS infesting
STORED CEREAL GRAINS and GRAIN STORES.
Note: Preventative control of mite species for up to 3 months will be achieved using the 2 L rate.
GRAIN ADMIXTURE
Dilute TALISMA EC with water and apply to harvested grain before it goes into store using calibrated grain spraying
equipment (semi-automatic or manual pumps) with continuous agitation of spray solution. In order to ensure an optimal
effectiveness, the nozzle should be positioned at the foot or the top of the elevator, on a conveyor belt (avoiding direct
contact with the belt itself) or where the grain falls. The application rate must be adjusted according to the grain flow
rate through the conveyor in tonnes per hour. The application rate should also be adjusted depending on the use
(preventative or curative) and the period of protection required, according to the table below.
TALISMA EC offers no with-holding period. Any grain treated with TALISMA EC can be processed straight away.
DO NOT USE TREATED GRAIN FOR SEED.
QUALIFIED RECOMMENDATION FOR USE IN GRAIN STORES AND STORAGE STRUCTURE
This recommendation is based on limited effectiveness data.
When the grain store is empty before harvest, clean out old grain, dust and other debris and thoroughly clean the grain
handling equipment. Spray all structural surfaces of empty grain store and grain handling machinery taking care to treat
all crevices. Where possible this should be done up to 3 to 4 weeks before filling the store.
Apply by either:
pneumatic or hydraulic knapsack sprayer with fan spray nozzle
 motorised knapsack sprayer
tractor operated spray lance (or contractors equivalent equipment)
RESISTANCE
To minimize the risk of resistance the following precautions should be taken:
Use TALISMA EC at label recommended rates. Do not reduce or increase rates from manufacturer
recommendations as this can hasten resistance development. Monitor subsequent pest levels to
gauge control.
Use insecticides from different chemical classes and different modes of action (not just
different brands or other pyrethroids from IRAC group 3A) during the season.
Calibrate equipment for accurate application. Use recommended spray volumes and pressures.
Where strains resistant to products containing pyrethroids compounds are present TALISMA
EC is unlikely to give satisfactory control.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
OPERATOR PROTECTION
Engineering control of operator exposure must be used where reasonably practicable in addition to the following
personal protective equipment:
WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERALLS)AND SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES when handling
the concentrate or applying by hand-held equipment
However, engineering controls may replace personal protective equipment if a COSHH assessment shows they
provide an equal or higher standard of protection.
TAKE OFF IMMEDIATELY all contaminated clothing.
AFTER CONTACT WITH SKIN, WASH IMMEDIATELY with plenty of water.
WHEN USING DO NOT EAT, DRINK OR SMOKE.
IF YOU FEEL UNWELL, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).

Talisma ec label

  • 1. 3414ELI.2016-05 Contains 80 g/l cypermethrin and 228 g/L piperonyl butoxide as an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulation (MAPP 16541) Liquid grain protectant for the control of stored product pests. The (COSHH) Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations may apply to the use of this product at work. TALISMA EC 24 Hour emergency telephone no. +44 (0)1235 239670 Manufacturer, Marketing Company and Approval holder: Arysta LifeScience Benelux sprl Rue de Renory 26/1 B-4102, Ougree - Belgium Tel: +32 4 385 97 11 Net Contents: 1 litre Manufacturing date and batch no.: see packaging DIRECTIONS FOR USE IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. GENERAL INFORMATION TALISMA EC is a liquid grain protectant with broad-spectrum insecticidal activity for the control of INSECTS infesting STORED CEREAL GRAINS and GRAIN STORES. Note: Preventative control of mite species for up to 3 months will be achieved using the 2 L rate. GRAIN ADMIXTURE Dilute TALISMA EC with water and apply to harvested grain before it goes into store using calibrated grain spraying equipment (semi-automatic or manual pumps) with continuous agitation of spray solution. In order to ensure an optimal effectiveness, the nozzle should be positioned at the foot or the top of the elevator, on a conveyor belt (avoiding direct contact with the belt itself) or where the grain falls. The application rate must be adjusted according to the grain flow rate through the conveyor in tonnes per hour. The application rate should also be adjusted depending on the use (preventative or curative) and the period of protection required, according to the table below. TALISMA EC offers no with-holding period. Any grain treated with TALISMA EC can be processed straight away. DO NOT USE TREATED GRAIN FOR SEED. QUALIFIED RECOMMENDATION FOR USE IN GRAIN STORES AND STORAGE STRUCTURE This recommendation is based on limited effectiveness data. When the grain store is empty before harvest, clean out old grain, dust and other debris and thoroughly clean the grain handling equipment. Spray all structural surfaces of empty grain store and grain handling machinery taking care to treat all crevices. Where possible this should be done up to 3 to 4 weeks before filling the store. Apply by either: pneumatic or hydraulic knapsack sprayer with fan spray nozzle motorised knapsack sprayer tractor operated spray lance (or contractors equivalent equipment) RESISTANCE To minimize the risk of resistance the following precautions should be taken: Use TALISMA EC at label recommended rates. Do not reduce or increase rates from manufacturer recommendations as this can hasten resistance development. Monitor subsequent pest levels to gauge control. Use insecticides from different chemical classes and different modes of action (not just different brands or other pyrethroids from IRAC group 3A) during the season. Calibrate equipment for accurate application. Use recommended spray volumes and pressures. Where strains resistant to products containing pyrethroids compounds are present TALISMA EC is unlikely to give satisfactory control.
