1. 1Meet IPTouchI will NEVER stop Being With, Saving, Hugging or Believing in Animals. Thank you for helping ME spread the IPT word!! AmyInnovative Pet Therapy
2. What is IPTouch2IPTouch activation is permission patternsguided by ANIMALS: Neurological Bonding Mechanisms, Parasympathetic Nervous System, GATE Theory, Oxygenated Blood Flow.
3. IPTs non medical hands on animal communication techniques are a must for adopted & displaced animals, rescue sanctuaries, pet sitters, animal trainers, owners, groomers, canine & equine police, guide dogs & ponies, endurance & performing horses...
4. IPTouch techniques like Elephant Hug, Animal Vibes, Tail Power, Growler, Snaking, Petters Press & many more 'touch' ALL species (except Jellyfish).
5. Amy has spent over 30 years working with displaced dogs, feral cats, cows , goats, racing horses as well as wildlife from Macaw parrots, Burmese pythons, monkeys, dolphins & more.
6. As she became more in tune with these creatures she became aware of very specific 'TOUCH' approaches that created animal permission, tension releasing wellbeing, communication & bonded mutual respect.
7. Innovative Pet Touch (IPTouch) was born.Innovative Pet Therapy
8. For Every Animal in the Universe3Young: Bonding is the FIRST step to 'training' cooperation. LOVE will create attention goals that LAST and your pet will readily respond to you and vice versa! Elderly: Healthy movement, balance, joint lubrication, bathroom habits and eating desires are NEEDED for animal health. IPT can help. Adopted: Oh Yes! By bonding & sharing new memories of affection & respect, adopted animals will know IPTouch and a humans LOVE! Athletes: Research shows active pets have a higher probability of physical dis-ease & general discomfort as they age. IPT can comfort this natural process.Displaced Pets & Wildlife: Activation of the bonding mechanism will allow rescuers to assess and handle these creatures as they prepare to send them back to their original homes if appropriate. If not, captivity will be a welcome venue with IPTouch. Rainbow Bridge preparation: IPTouch will share the continuation of your love & your connection together as your pet transitions over the RB...a part of life. Humans: Respecting other life forms through IPT Will make you a better person. I PROMISE!! Innovative Pet Therapy
9. The Mind: Animal & Human:Touch time together becomes longer and the animal sometimes even requests it. Animals close their eyes during IPTouch. You both begin to breathe together during IPTouch sessions. You can change the animals position comfortably because they resemble a noodle. You and the animal kingdom begin to communicate with heart instead of command. Outside: You can touch your animals everywhere. Joints move comfortably and are relaxed. Animal posture relaxes. Rounded backs straighten. Tails move more. Movement balances and strengthens. Inside:You are easily aware of animal vital signs such as pulse, breathing, skin temperature / tension, and capillary refill. Eating, sleeping, and potty habits become balanced and healthy. Sorry, did I mention flatulence? Yes, this can be a sign of relaxation. The Spirit:More running, playing, and smiling for both of you. Cooperation will become easier. The animal wants to grasp your language because you have begun to appreciate theirs. Animals become more peaceful during social activities and interactions. The Human: You have truly found your best friend and are on the human path to the art of Animal Communication. 4IPTouch WillInnovative Pet Therapy
10. IPTouch is composed of4 theories'Permission' Approaches:The goal is to decrease tensions patterns (either emotional or physical) by activation of the parasympathetic relaxation response. These are a must for rescued pets & wildlife that are unsure of 'touch' and close communication with strangers.
11. 'Blocking' Approachesare for IPTouch consent activation. This is used to facilitate passive Positional Elongation (PE) & comfortable active body motion. These are for pets that are having postural tension patterns during both active & passive activities.
12. 'Gentling'Nutrition Approachesare for the improvement of soft tissue nutrition for healthy ACTIVE motion. This is VERY important for walks, play time, in and out of the car toleration, grooming needs, sporting events, as well as potty and sleep comfort.
13. IPTouch 'Positional Elongation' SpecialsareGOALS within IPTouch recipes for active self stretching& physical elongation such as wing flapping, tail wagging, rolling...5Innovative Pet Therapy
14. Tension Patterns Tension from life such as sports, travel, fatigue, boredomcan cause skin tension, creating fascia (connective tissue) to stick. This is a natural tension pattern.
15. Fascial stickingcauses poor muscular hydration. Oxygenated bloodcant reach muscles due to constricted blood vessels.
16. Muscles shortenand become ischemic due to lactic acid waste products and lack of oxygen. This hurts. Because the muscle cannot be usedat its full capacity, a decrease in muscle power results.
18. Now the animal is agitated or depressedand finds it difficult to pay attention or cooperate with humans. Dis-ease has set in.
19. IPTouch can unlock tension patternsand reverse this process preventing tension patterns from becoming too severe and causing disease. Use IPTouch for animal wellness.6Innovative Pet Therapy

22. All By ItselfPhantom Paw: Place your full hand anywhere on the animal and DONT MOVE. IPTouch an area of discomfort or not. This touch can activate the PNS (calming response) for pain reduction and general relaxation.Fur Striping: Light, long feather-like stroking, always remaining in touch. This touch allows you to feel for areas of sensitivity that may need medical care.Animal Vibes: This activates the PNS for a healthy relaxation response and stronger immune system. Add POSITIONAL ELONGATION: As you feel the extremities and body begin to rock with a relaxed rhythm, help legs, tail, trunk, head (all joints) move and elongate.IPTouch Verbology All The TimeSnaking: Once human-animal touchbegins, your hands must always remain in contact. This allows the animal to know where you are.Gazurtal:(Turtle + Gazelle) Take time for each body part and pay attention to daily physical and emotional(personality) changes in the animal.Dog Breathe: Breathe together for a relaxing rhythm. Meowing: Hum a sound slowly and relax with your breathing.Lapdog: You must BOTH be in a comfortable position for the time together to be enjoyable and healthy.Innovative Pet Therapy9
23. IPTouch VerbologyPay Attention Petters Press: This touch will enhance circulation and relieve deeper areas of tension.Pet Connector: For healthy movement, balance, and circulation, the fascia needs to move freely.Bear Squeeze: A mixture of Fur Striping and Petters Press with a treat on top.Drummers Howl: Muscular relaxation and improved circulation.IPTouch SpecialsTail Power: Opens and releases the entire body by relaxing the hips and low back.Newspaper: Full body Animal Vibes with trunk and extremity movement ALL at the same time.Lying Lizard: Hugging, Lapdog, and Animal Vibes all in one.Innovative Pet Therapy10
25. 12Functional Terminology Contraindications: When NOT to IPTouch. This is one of the most important awareness goals of the IPTouch AMCP as this knowledge will truly guide animals to wellness and safety.
27. Tension Patterns: Emotional or physical stress will cause physical holding patterns. The change in circulation and movement creates a dis-ease. Changing tension patterns is the first step in IPTouch.
28. Coupling: Animals may disassociate a part of their body when another is symptomatic of a dis-ease pattern. This facilitates proprioceptive compensation and eventually fatigues the full body.
29. The Peripheral Nervous System is made up of the Somatic (voluntary movement) and Autonomic (involuntary movement) Nervous Systems. The Autonomic Nervous System governs two areas that IPTouch can greatly affect the Sympathetic (SNS) and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems (PNS). Innovative Pet Therapy
30. Functional TerminologyGate Theory: Sensation information from the CNS information center can be controlled with touch. For example, vibration beats discomfort to the brain because pain travels on a slower nerve fiber than vibration, pressure, or temperature.
31. Connective Tissue: Fascial tissue supports the structures of the animals body. Tension patterns could constrict oxygenated blood flow and may facilitate this tissue to stick. This could decrease movement comfort.
32. Dis-Ease (Lack of Ease): Stress may cause tension patterns, which could be a precursor to illness. Stress can change metabolism, digestion, hormones, blood flow, mental state, and other body functions. IPTouch does not use the word disease (without hyphen) as this refers to a diagnostic pathology. IPTouch does not diagnose. ( Found in IPT Policy Guidelines)
33. Inflammatory Process: This is the first response to the healing mechanism, however, if continued, tissue damage will occur and chronic pain and injury will result. Inflammation consists of three phases:
37. 14Functional Terminology Tendon Reflex Response: Tight ligaments, dis-ease and rapid movements will cause this reflex to jerk the extremity back to a perceived safe position. IPTouch does not use range of motion or stretching with animals. Through certain PE techniques, IPTouch will achieve Positional Elongation of limbs and skin with the animals comfort and permission.
38. Proprioceptors: These are sensors located in tendons and muscles that help prevent injury. The Golgi Apparatus monitors tendon lengthening speed and tolerance, and the Muscle Spindle senses movement in the muscle belly, protecting tissues from over-elongating.
39. Soft Tissue PNS Activation: Relaxation and softening of soft tissue may facilitate oxygenated blood flow nutrition.
40. Atrophy: Direct tissue trauma, decreased circulation, lack of use, and poor nerve supply will all make muscles lose size and strength.Innovative Pet Therapy
41. Functional TerminologySensory Receptors:Dis-ease, heat, pressure, and temperature are all early warning signals to protect tissue. These sensors can be found under the skin, on bone coverings (periosteum), in intestines and elsewhere. The Sympathetic Nervous System (fight or flight) response to discomfort is one of the systems activated, affecting blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration.
42. Plastic Tissue Elongation is a held sustained *PE. This will guide tissue to having a longer holding pattern for flexibility goals. Healthy balance and PERMISSION are a must. This is best done 2 days before and 2 days after hard events. Consistency is the key. This will change body balance and mechanical dis-ease patterns..45 seconds or longer. (used to facilitate your pets ability to sleep in full active elongation)
43. Elastic *PE is a tissue warming elongation pattern that will guide oxygenated blood to tissues. A great way to warm up and cool down after a sporting event or long walk. A short few second hold.15 - 30 second holds or dynamic PE. (used to decrease dis-ease compensation patterns before your pets walk)15Innovative Pet Therapy
