Olivia Day is considering various options to present her work from her Final Major Project (FMP) which focused on designing makeup products. She is deciding between creating a website, submitting her video advertisement to a film festival, and participating in a 'Presentation Night' organized by her college course. Olivia ultimately decides to create a website to showcase her makeup designs and a video advertisement. She also participates in the Presentation Night to get feedback on her work from peers, friends, and family. Olivia shares a private link to her video and gets initial positive feedback. Images from the successful Presentation Night event are also included.

3. Potential ways of sharing my work
There are a few aspects that I should carefully consider whilst planning the
presentation sector of my FMP. I am aware that the presentation must be relevant and
fitting for the kind of material that I have produced as the final product of my FMP. I
also believe that I must consider how my audience will discover and access my work,
additionally, that the right audience that I have targeted my project towards is the
majority consumer. This is so that I will be able to receive reviews of my work that will
assist me when thinking of potential ways to improve my products when I work on a
similar project in the future.
A few versions of presentation formats that I have thought of so far include a website
that showcase my product designs in an ‘online store’ layout, a film festival to submit
my video advertisement to, and a ‘presentation night’ held by my college course – this
was a joint decision made by me and my student peers at York College.
4. Which methods have I decided to use?
Website
After consideration, I have decided that composing an online ‘store’/website for my brand will be both
efficient and effective in gaining attention to my brand. The website will showcase each individual makeup
product that I have designed throughout the FMP process just as had I initially anticipated.
Reasons why creating a website will be effective in presenting my FMP:
•Wide Reach and Accessibility: An online platform will allow me to reach a global audience 24/7. My target
audience can access my website from anywhere and at any time, increasing the potential for exposure.
•Visual Appeal and Product Presentation: A website allows me to create a visually appealing experience for
my target audience. I can showcase my makeup products through professional-looking product images and
interactive features.
•Information and Education on my brand: I will have the opportunity to provide detailed information about my
makeup products, such as their ingredients, benefits, usage instructions, and customer reviews. Educating my
target audience about my products will build the image that my makeup brand is ‘real’ and accessible.
By utilizing these advantages, I will be able to effectively promote my designed makeup products to my target
audience.
5. Which methods have I decided to use?
Presentation night
My college course has suggested the idea of holding a ‘Presentation Night’ in which we showcase our
final projects to friends and family in order to receive feedback and express our innovation and ways
of interpreting our uniqueness into our work.
• Captive Audience: The presentation night provides a captive audience consisting of my peers,
tutors, and friends and family of creative media students. These individuals have a genuine interest
in my field of study and are likely to appreciate and understand the effort and creativity that I and
other media students have put into our Final Major Projects.
• Feedback and Validation: Presenting your work to an engaged audience allows us to receive
valuable feedback and validation. My peers and presentation night attendees can provide
constructive criticism, suggestions, and praise, helping me to understand the strengths and areas
for improvement in my media work. This feedback can be useful in refining my skills and enhancing
my future projects.
• Peer Inspiration: Presentation night will allow me to see the work of my peers and gain inspiration
from their projects. Witnessing the creativity and innovation of others can stimulate my own ideas
and motivate me to push the boundaries of my future projects.
• Motivation and Celebration: Taking part in a presentation night is an opportunity to celebrate our
hard work and dedication throughout our course. It serves as a milestone, acknowledging my
achievements and providing motivation for my future endeavours. The sense of accomplishment
gained from presenting my makeup video advertisement to an appreciative audience can be
fulfilling and boost my confidence as a creative individual.
The image above shows me and
my fellow media students in a
meeting discussing the ins and
outs of the presentation night
and how best to showcase our
work in a well-thought-out
manner.
6. Evidence of showing my work – Advert + Feedback
Because of copyright reasons and the risk of YouTube taking my work down, I had to upload the video
privately. In turn, I asked for a few of the watchers of the video, who received the link, to send me some
feedback. As I write this, I have only received one person’s feedback so far.
7. Evidence of showing my work – Presentation night
The presentation night was a success! It was great fun seeing the projects that my peers on my
college work had been working so hard on for three months. Hearing the positive reaction from
visitors of the presentation night once they had watched my video was so fulfilling and has certainly
boosted my confidence as I will begin to evaluate my work. The lecture theatre at college, which is
where the presentation night was held, was full of enthusiastic visitors and all in all, holding a
presentation night was the most perfect way to introduce our media skills to a fresh audience. The
images below show my advertisement being show to the audience.
