What could be more fitting
for a royal banquet than
the Queen of Hearts own
jam tarts? Try our recipe for
this quintessential British
teatime treat careful not
to burn them or it will be
off with your head!
The Queens Jam Tarts
In the very middle of the court was a
table, with a large dish of tarts upon it:
they looked so good, that it made Alice
quite hungry to look at them *
METHOD:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180C / Gas Mark 4 and lightly grease a 12-hole
tart tray.
2. In a large bowl, rub together the flour, butter and salt until the
mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
3. Gradually add the water to the flour mixture. Continue to mix
until it produces a ball of dough.
4. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 0.5 cm.
5. Using a pastry cutter slightly larger than the holes of the tart tray,
cut the pastry into 12 round shapes.
6. Gently press the rounds of pastry into the tray, adding a heaped
teaspoon of jam to each round.
7. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
INGREDIENTS:
250g plain flour
125g unsalted butter or
margarine
12 heaped tsp of strawberry
jam (alternatively use any
other jam or lemon curd)
4-5 tbsp water
Pinch of salt

Wonderland Games
THE FISHBOWL GAME
Instructions:
1. Cut-out the character cards and place the folded cards into a fishbowl or similar container.
2. Divide the group into two equal teams (Team A and Team B).
3. Taking turns, one player from Team A is given one minute to try to get their team to correctly guess
as many character cards from the fishbowl as they can following the rules of the round.
4. Once Team As minute is up, the number of characters guessed correctly is counted to give a score.
All of the character cards are placed back into the fishbowl. A player from Team B is then given a
minute to complete the same round and their score is similarly recorded.
5. Once all the rounds are completed, the team with the highest total score from all the rounds wins.
Rules for each round:
*Round 1: Players can use any actions and words (apart from the answer)
*Round 2: Players can only use actions
*Round 3: Players can only say 3 words (apart from the answer)
*Round 4: Players can only use actions under a bedsheet
WHO AM I?
Instructions:
1. Print the character cards on sticker labels (e.g. avery labels: 3425,
J8173-25, L7173B-100 or J8173-100). Alternatively, write the names
of the characters on post-it notes so that you have enough different
characters for the number of players.
2. Go around and attach a sticker label or post-it note to each players
forehead.
3. Players try to guess who their character is by going around the
room and asking other players yes or no questions (e.g. Am I an
animal?, Am I a main character?). Encourage players to mingle by
moving on to another player after they have asked a question.
4. The game ends when all the players have guessed who they are.
