- 3. Are you aware of a social justice issue in your school or community?
- 4. Consider applying for a Teach Peace & Justice Action Research Grant.
- 5. Action research fosters creativity, problem- solving, critical thinking & teamwork.
- 6. Multiple grants are available for elementary, middle school, and high school levels.
- 7. Project must be age-appropriate & foster research skills & student interaction.
- 8. Together with students identify a problem. >Social conflict/bullying >Discrimination >Poverty/human needs >Unfair laws >Peace issues/need for nonviolence
- 9. Together with students collect data about the problem.
- 10. Together with students decide on a solution. Public campaign ~ Leafleting ~ Mural ~ Play ~ Video ~ Podcast ~ Pen Pals ~ Musical ~ Address government body
- 11. Complete the grant application online.
- 12. Use grant funds to carry out the project.
- 13. Present your results at the May Broome County Peace Action Meeting.
