- 3. PUPPETS: Puppets have been used for thousand of years by cultures all over the world. Dozens of different type exist. The only defining characteristic is that they convey a sense of character and emotion and even tell a story.

- 5. SHADOW PUPPETS - flat black silhouette made from lightweight cardboard and shown behind a screen.
- 6. ROD PUPPETS -figures tacked to a stick, with one or more movable parts, and operated from below the stage level by wire rods or slender sticks.
- 7. HAND PUPPETS -the puppets head is operated by the forefinger of the puppeteer, the little finger and thumb being used to animate the puppet hands.
- 8. GLOVE-AND-FINGER PUPPETS -make use of old gloves to which small costumed figure are attached.
- 9. MARIONETTES -flexible, jointed puppets operated by strings or wire attached to a cross bar and maneuvered from directly above the stage.
