 International Goutte d'Or (IGO) Sa was
founded in 2002 by Mr. Nicolas Tchassama, a
Togolese entrepreneur who works in the
ECOWAS countries. He is currently the
President of IGO Holding Sa and a co-founder
of the American Shea Butter Institute in
Atlanta, United States.
 IGO Holding Sa is the parent company and
100% shareholder in the subsidiary company
which is IGO Production Togo Sarl.
 Mr. Steven Tuinstra is the Chief Executive
Officer of IGO Production Togo Sarl. It was
established in April 2011 at Kara, the north of
Togo.
 IGO’s Clients comprise of the chocolate
industry, cosmetic industry and
pharmaceutical industry.
VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT
 IGO’s vision is to build shea butter plants in Guinea
Conakry and Ghana and an opened sales offices in
Europe, Asia and America and to have good contact
with our customers.
 The mission is to have in the future 50% of the shea
butter market in IGO’s hands. This will assist with
creating more than 160,000 jobs for the West
African population.
 The project’s main objective is to transform shea
butter from the semi industrial production system
into a 100% industrial production.

OPPORTUNITIES
 Demand for shea butter produced in West Africa has increased by
1200% over the last 10 years and is still climbing.
 The global expected market values for the chocolate industry by 2019 is
$131.7 billion, cosmetics industry by 2020 is $390.07 billion and
pharmaceutical industry by 2020 is $1.6 trillion.
 The shea butter project has 134% internal rate of return. (see page 5 ).
MARKET ANALYSIS
 The shea industry is experiencing a growing demand for shea butter,
mostly due to an increase in global demand for vegetable oils and fats.
 Shea butter is used as a substitute for cocoa butter in the confectionery
industry. This is also known as Cocoa Butter equivalents (CBEs).
 .Around 90-95% of exported shea is used in the production of CBEs.
 In the global market there is a strong shea demand for chocolate
confectionery products . Chocolate sales is growing at about 3-4% per
annum and annual growth in demand for CBEs is about 10%.
SHEA TREE
 It is a unique tree that grows only in West
Africa and Central Africa.
 Shea tree may be found in 19 contiguous
countries across Africa forming what may be
considered as shea belt, spanning some 3.000
miles from Senegal to Ethiopia.
SHEA NUTS
 Shea nuts are tree nuts that are used to produce
shea butter or shea oil.
 Over 1.7 million tonnes of shea nuts are
harvested annually from an estimated 500
million productive trees.
 Shea nuts are expected to yield massively in
the future since there is an increasing
cultivation of shea trees by the people in West
Africa.

PRODUCTION OF SHEA BUTTER
 IGO will concentrate the shea butter manufacturing in the
centre of the shea areas of West Africa.
 There are more demands than supplies for a high grade
quality of shea butter.
 We will produce high grade of quality shea butter with
technical equipments specially designed for the
production of shea butter and we will continue to adapt
our equipments for the needs of the market.
 There will be production capacity of 18.000 m/t shea
butter per year for the start and expand it in the
coming years to 50,000 m/t per year.
 We envision to have sold the shea butter before we start
the production.
SALES STRATEGY
 The shea butter will be exported to Europe, North and
South America and Asia.
 IGO has contact with companies in the chocolate
industry, cosmetic industry and pharmaceutical
industry, especially those interested in buying our
shea butter if we meet their requirements. IGO will
produce quality shea butter to meet it‘s customers
requirements.
 IGO has a license for free zone which makes it
possible to import the shea nuts on tax free and
export tax free on the shea butter.
 The machineries will also be imported tax free for
the production of the shea butter and a lot of other
benefits.

IGO has a network of shea collectors from nine countries in
West Africa. This includes women residing around the
surroundings of the shea area. We set up a co-operative for
these women who collect shea nuts for IGO. The
cooperative collect shea nuts only for IGO every year.

AFRICA, TOGO?
 IGO wants to produce the shea butter in the shea areas in West
Africa in order to minimize the cost of transporting the shea
nuts to Europe, North and South America and Asia.
 This is because, to produce 1 kilogram of shea butter, you
need 2.2 kilograms of shea nuts.
