Skip Bensley aims to create a 1 minute testimonial video for a tech day camp within 45 minutes. - 3. Goals We hope to showcase Tech day camp in a favorable way by asking questions, getting good answers and editing them together with effects to create a youtube video testimonial promoting Tech day Camp.
- 4. Equipment used: Cameras: I may be biased but Canon Cameras have always performed admirably and have been proven to be durable in the 鍖eld. I have used Canon pro-sumer and Pro cameras for 8 plus years. My 鍖rst is still in use. Camera is the Canon Prosumer HV40. Its a Mini DV HD camera that While Canon sells them for 900+ I have seen them on Sale for as little as 649.00. It will shoot both HD and SD (standard de鍖nition) so you have 鍖exibility in a small package.
- 5. Microphone: Lavaliere Microphones: These are clip on microphones that go just below the knot on your tie when doing formal and informal interviews and are good for getting better then average audio during an interview. Basic: Audio Technica Pro-70 wired Lavaliere microphone. The microphone takes a AA battery and feeds good clean audio. Has on off switch. just a very steady wired LAV solution.
- 6. Head Phones: Having a good set of over the ear headphones are essential to shooting good video. If you cannot 鍖lter out the background noise to hear what is being recorded your video will not be any good no matter what camera or microphone you use, I cannot stress that enough.
- 7. Tripod: Having a good tripod is important in framing your subject. I think It is better to get a metal tripod rather then one that has plastic parts. Plastic breaks and then your stuck with no tripod. Just my preference. Manfrotto 190XDB Tripod, Black with 128RC Head 199.00 Sturdy metal construction good value for Monfrotto, supports camera up to 8 pounds. Fluid head for smooth pans ( side to side) shooting. Durable.
- 8. Lights: Lighting can make or break your shoot as much as audio can. Too dark or Too bright can ruin video and there is not much you can do in post to salvage dark or brightly blown out video. Using a well lit room to start would be good. Good lighting is very expensive however. We will be using a very Basic Tungsten Light Kit today for our shoot.You can rent these easily from AV and video production rental companies rather inexpensively.
- 9. Software & Post-production: We now have good footage from our mics, camera, and lights now we need to import and post produce the footage. If you have 鍖rewire you need a computer that will take 鍖re. I recommend a mac of course. Software: Deluxe: Final Cut Studio Computers: Mac Book Pro Dual Core 2.33 with 4 GB Ram
- 10. Miscellaneous: Stuff you will need, some now some eventually. 4 Good quality 25 XLR Cables, about 20.00 each 2 Power strips, (5.00) 2 25 AC cords (5.00) 1 mini to mini cables.
