The STaR Chart is a tool used by Morton Ranch Junior High to assess and plan their technology readiness and use. It measures four key areas: Teaching & Learning, Educator Preparation & Development, Leadership/Administration/Instructional Support, and Infrastructure. Morton Ranch's 2009-2010 STaR Chart results showed their highest scores were in Leadership/Administration/Instructional Support and their lowest were in Educator Preparation. Based on these results, their goals were to provide additional technology staff development and better integrate technology into classroom lessons.

Tool designed for use in technology planning, budgeting for resources, and evaluation of progress in local technology projects. Produces a profile of your campus’ status toward reaching the goals of the Long Range Plan for Technology and No Child Left Behind. Developed around the four key areas of the Long-Range Plan for Technology 2006-2020. Define STaR Chart
Create and/or update the district’s technology plan. Conceptualize the campus vision of technology. Measure student and teacher proficiencies in technology. Set goals and monitor progress. Use of STaR Chart
