? Textile design is the creative process of creating
patterns, motifs, and designs for fabrics. It involves
the use of art, design, and technology to create
functional and visually appealing textiles for
clothing, home furnishings, and other applications.

Repeat pattern
Designers use repeats for large pieces of
fabrics or sheet to be printed without breaks
or gaps in a pattern.
Repeat patterns may run horizontal or vertical.
There are many types of pattern repeats.

Types of pattern repeats
A block or full
drop
Brick repeat Half drop repeat Mirror repeat

1. A block or full drop
? A block repeat is the simplest style of repeat.
? It is simply formed by arranging the original in a basic grid.

2. Brick repeat
? The motifs are arranged like bricks.
? They are in a horizontal row and then the next row is offset to create a
staggered look.

3. Half drop repeat
? Half-drop repeat is very similar to the brick/half-brick, buut the motifs
are offset vertically instead horizontally.

4. Mirror repeat
? A mirror repeat duplicates figures in a row and then in the next row,
flips all the figures horizontal so they face the opposite direction.
