Dear Salem,
On behalf of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence's Climate CoLab, I would like to
thank you for the extremely valuable contribution you made as a Fellow for the Climate
CoLab Urban Energy Efficiency contest in 2015.
I hope you are – as we are – proud with what the Climate CoLab was able to
accomplish this year. The platform ran more contests than ever before (24), collectively
receiving over 550 proposals. This included the suite of six regional contests and one
global contest, where members could combine ideas to form larger climate strategies.
Over 11,000 votes were cast during the public online voting period, and the Climate
CoLab community is now just shy of 50,000 members, which is about double the size of
the community a year ago.
The contest winners presented their proposals and connected with those who could
help accelerate their work at the Climate CoLab’s Crowds & Climate conference, which
was a part of MIT’s inaugural Solve program, held in October at the MIT campus. There
were 200 people who attended the conference in person, and an additional 700
watched the proceedings online.
These achievements would not have been possible without the commitment of the
Climate CoLab Fellows. We hope you know how much we appreciate your time and
your sustained commitment!
We also hope that your involvement this year will be part of a lasting relationship with
the Climate CoLab. We would appreciate your feedback on any ways we can improve
our process, and we hope you will continue to lend your expertise to our future contests
and other initiatives.
Best Regards,
Thomas Malone
