The CRIME® Electronic Delivery of Investigation and Crime Scene Reports

Approximately 60% of an investigators work is completing paperwork. This ranges from the initial
report of a crime being committed through to the presentation of evidence to a forensic service
provider or a prosecution team in court.

In many jurisdictions investigators write reports including crime scene reports, investigation briefs,
narratives, and forensic submission forms. Many of these documents require the same information
to be entered and each item or detail has to be written repeatedly by hand.

The introduction of an electronic recording and submission service can reduce waste and provide
investigators with hours of time which can be better utilised on investigation enquiries. These
electronic systems also enable the chain of command to have access to full disclosure at every stage
of the investigation, reducing the administrative burden on staff that are already under immense
pressure.
