H.I.S. BRIDGEBUILDERS
Crossover AthleticsCrossover Athletics
Restoration through sports, one young life at a time.
A faith-based agency, H.I.S. BridgeBuilders restores urban communities through education, health, economic development and spiritual development. It works in the
underserved Bonton neighborhood in South Dallas, where poverty, single-parent homes, drugs, gang violence and high dropout rates are prevalent.
The Crystal Charity Ball funds will be used over three years to expand the Crossover Athletics program in the Bonton neighborhood of South Dallas. This Christcentered
mentoring program helps to reduce crime and increase high school graduation rates in a community where youth are confronted with many challenges. Using sports to
redirect these at-risk youth, volunteer coaches model values and skills including goal setting, respect, cooperation and hard work. The coaches are cultivating the next
generation of godly men to make a di鍖erence in their neighborhood. During the last two years, youth who have participated in the program have achieved an 89%
graduation rate. Funds will be used to add additional teams to the existing football and basketball leagues, to expand into the baseball league and to purchase a 15-
passenger van to help transport teams. Approximately 96 male youth ages 8 to 18 will be served over the three years.
