The document summarizes a new brand of plastic wrap called ChicWrap that aims to improve upon standard plastic wrap. It dispenses easily without getting stuck to itself. It has a sliding cutter that makes cutting the plastic wrap simple without risk of cutting fingers. While initially more expensive than regular plastic wrap, the refills are competitively priced. The article provides details on prices and expanding availability to promote this new alternative to traditional plastic wrap.

Plastic Wrap Gets an Upgrade

Plastic wrap may seem an odd thing to make a fuss about, but sometimes it's the small things that really get under your skin.
My beef with this everyday and seemingly innocuous kitchen item is that it almost always gets stuck on the roll, forcing me to
spend way too long trying to find the end and then pull it apart. Plastic wrap also has the annoying habit of sticking to itself;
before I can cover whatever it is I'm covering, the plastic pulls and folds into a messy bundle. Then there's the serrated edge
for cutting the film, the edge that does a lousy job at cutting through the plastic wrap, but excels at cutting my fingers and the
palm of my hand.
My last box of plastic wrap ran out a couple weeks ago and I've launched my own little silent protest ever since. I'm mostly
making do with re-sealable plastic bags and foil, but sometimes you really do need a little plastic wrap.
I was about to give in and buy another roll and then I received a sample of ChicWrap, a new brand of plastic wrap that promises ease of use and stylish good
looks. The refillable dispensers feature different patterns, such as citrus, dots, and sunflowers. They're sturdier than your standard cardboard dispenser, and have
a coating that allows you to wipe them clean, as well as non-skid rubber feet to keep the box from sliding around the countertop.
Why would you want to keep the plastic wrap on the countertop? Because it's so easy to use that you'll want to use it all the time, and because it comes in a cute
box, you won't mind it being out all the time. And what about that pesky cutting edge? Not a problem because ChicWrap uses what they call a "ZipSafe 際際滷
Cutter." Once you pull the plastic film over the cutting strip, you just slide the mini cutter across and you're done. The whole process is really simple: You can pull
the plastic film up and over whatever you want to cover and just slide the cutter across. There's no cutting your hand and no plastic wrap sticking to itself or rolling
back onto the roll.
ChicWrap isn't exactly a bargain. Your starter kit, which contains the dispenser box and one 250-foot roll is $9.99 plus the $5.99 flat rate for shipping. That
seems crazy when you consider that a regular box of plastic wrap is under $4 (I found a 200-foot roll of Glad Cling Wrap listed for $3.29 online.) But things start
to look up when you order refills, which are $15.99 for 4 rolls or $3.99 per 250-foot roll. Also, the flat rate means that no matter how much you order, it's always
$5.99, so it makes sense to buy in bulk. ChicWrap is available on the company Web site and in select retailers, so you could potentially avoid the shipping cost.
Plus, they are expanding to other shops, region by region, and being featured on QVC.

How timely since the Mister and I were having bit of a 'discussion' about the pain that plastic wrap can be. As he tried to grab the starting edge that allegedly is the
part that 'sticks' to the guide in the front. No such luck, and it got all ferhootled. I did save the roll, but not before getting testy with him- and it was the darn Saran
Wrap's fault!
