The very first thing a new driver should put in their car is a map, or, in todays technological world, a Sat-Nav. In years gone by, many a driver has embarrassingly taken an hour to reach a destination thats five minutes away, but theres not so much of an excuse anymore
Although it probably strikes up images of a bad horror film, cars can break down in remote locations. Youll need a flashlight to make your way around if you do.
Again, youve got to prepare yourself for the worst you never know when youre going to blow a tire. Youll need a spare if you do. These things are unfortunate, but forward planning can make getting around them a lot easier, especially if you know how to change one yourself.
