2. INTRODUCTION
The founder and chairman of Harvest International in
Indonesia, Harvey Goldstein is an expert in private sector
growth and economic development in the Asia-Pacific
region. With years of experience in the region, including
Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the
Philippines, Harvey Goldstein is a renowned public figure
and business executive. In addition to professional work,
Mr. Goldstein has contributed to philanthropic efforts,
including creating a scholarship program at The Johns
Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).
Organized in 1979, the CTYs alumni include Facebook
CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google co-founder Sergey
Brin.
3. GOLDSTEIN SCHOLARSHIP
The CTY is a nonprofit organization that works to identify young
people who show academic promise and to develop and nurture
their talents.
The CTY offers summer programs focused on arduous
academics but also include a social aspect for students who have
the opportunity to work with and learn from peers around the
globe. The Goldstein Scholarship provides students with financial
need and high performing young individuals with full tuition, room
and board, books, and airfare. At an approximate cost of $8,000,
per student per program, the scholarship enables young people
who may not have the means to develop their potential to do so
