The Guadalquivir River
The Greeks called me Tartessos river
The Romans called me Betis Ave Betis
The Arabs called me Guadalquivir (The Great River) الوادي الكبير الوادي الكبير = al-wadi al-Kabir
I am born in Sierra de Cazorla (Jaén)
I am 666 km long…
...and I have dozens of bridges
I am the only Spanish big river whose course ... ...flows entirely through one autonomous community (Andalusia)
I flow through the provinces of Jaén, Córdoba, Seville and Cádiz
I flow through cities such as CÓRDOBA and SEVILLA
My main tributary is the Genil river, which is born in Sierra Nevada
Many types of fish live in my waters: trout, barbel, black blass, sturgeon, pike, carp ... TROUT BARBEL BLACK BASS STURGEON
On my banks there are oleanders, rush, reeds, mint, alders, ash trees, poplars, willows ...
At Sanlúcar de Barrameda my waters flow into the Atlantic Ocean
