It was exactly a year ago when I bought my very first DSLR. I was really excited because this is one of my dream to have such and learn more about photography.
Right after I got my 1st loan at this lending institution, I immediately asked my Mom and a friend of mine to accompany me in Manila. It was timely because my Mom had already a plan to have their gift shopping for our relatives in Divisoria. This is my time also to check the suit that I'll be wearing for their upcoming Silver Wedding Anniversary on December 10.
Saturday came and I didn't tell her my plan of buying a SLR but instead she knew that I will just join her and do some Window Shopping. When we reached Recto, I asked permission to my Mom that I and Ate Jen will just check a store at Quiapo and let her go directly in Divisoria. I mentioned also that we will just text or call her when and where to meet after our errands in Quiapo.
Walking towards the famous street of Quaipo for camera enthusiasts gets me so excited as I imagine holding my very own SLR. I remember also at that time that I did not lose a grab nor a hold with my wallet because I fear that an untoward incident can happen. Fortunately, we were able to reach Henry's Camera Shop and a feeling of overwhelming excitement burst in.

The shop was packed with a lot of gadgets, of course cameras of different sizes and brands. There were a lot of prospect buyers and we waited a minute before an available crew entertained us.
Ate Jen asked first what specifications of a SLR are best suited for a beginner. The crew presented two different brands with almost the same specifications and explained to us what's inside.

A series of test and shots were made and it was kinda difficult for me to choose Nikon over Canon. The last question that I asked was the price of the accessories and peripherals of each unit. Canon has the cheaper accessories and peripherals and with this, I finally decided to buy the Canon 1100D.

The crew arranged all the accessories included and the freebies of the unit. I can't explain the joy and happiness of having my own camera. After paying, I and Ate Jen went out of the shop and looked for a pedicab going to Divisoria.
When we finally met Mama at Divisoria, she questioned the paper bag I'm holding and why it is has a Canon box.

With no further a due, I've shown her the SLR and she got mad because she was tried to borrow money from me the night before and I said I haven't had any money yet.

We ate our lunch and that's when she finally calmed down and talked to me. She said that I must use this not just for fun but venture this into business.
I just smiled back to her and the day of seeing beautiful things through my lens start.
