Hugo Cabret is a 12-year-old orphan boy living alone in the walls of a busy Paris train station in 1931 where he works as a clock keeper. He discovers mysterious drawings in an abandoned automaton and sets out to uncover its secrets with his friend Isabelle. They discover the automaton's owner is Georges M辿li竪s, an old toy booth owner who was once a famous filmmaker. Papa Georges takes Hugo in after learning his story.

The Author of The Invention Brian of Hugo Selznick Cabret
Hugo Cabret Hugo is a 12 years-old orphan who lives in the walls of a busy Paris railway terminal. He works as a clock keeper. He is a persistent boy and talented to fix a clock. He wants to be a magician.
Isabelle M辿li竪s An orphan girl who has been adopted by Georges M辿li竪s. She likes to read novel that she borrowed from her friend, Etienne. She accompanies Hugo on most of his adventures.
Georges M辿li竪s Usually called as Papa Georges that owns a small toy booth in train station at Paris. When he was a young man, he worked as magician and later, become an important film maker.
Jeanne dAlcy Is Papa Georges wife that is usually called as Mama Jeanne or Madame Jeanne. Shes a warm-hearted wife and when she was a young lady, she worked as an actress in all of her husbands movies.
Etienne Pruchon A man who has only an eye because of Portuguese Rockets Firework when he was a child. Hes a student at French Film Academy that learned how to be a cameraman.
