The Kingdom of Kush was located south of ancient Egypt along the Nile River in the region of Nubia, also known as the Land of the Bow due to its expert archers who kept the people safe through their powerful army. Nubia was a land of natural wealth containing gold mines, ivory, incense and iron ore, and unlike Egypt was not reliant on seasonal Nile flooding for agriculture due to year-long tropical rainfall.
