Nature provides a lesson in abundance through apple trees producing hundreds of seeds per fruit to grow only a few new trees. Not all seeds will grow since most seeds fail to take root. To be successful, one must be willing to try many times, similar to needing many interviews to gain employment, or talking to many people to find a friend or make a sale. Successful people understand this "Law of the Seed" and plant more seeds through repeated efforts rather than getting discouraged by failure.

- 2. The Law of the Seed Have a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples on the tree and each apple may have ten or more seeds. That's lot of seeds!
- 3. We might ask, "Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more apple trees?"
- 4. Nature has something to teach us here.
- 5. It's telling us: Not all seeds grow. In life, most seeds never grow.
- 6. So if you really want to make something happen, you better try more than once.
- 7. This might mean: You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job. You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.
- 8. You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, one car, one vacuum cleaner, one insurance policy, or a business idea.
- 9. And you might meet hundred people just to find one special friend.
- 10. If you remember the "Law of the Seed," you won't get disappointed.
