The MiBio project aims to establish an online platform and computer-aided sperm analysis (CASA) solution for sharing knowledge and research results between researchers. The goals are to make motility examinations available freely online, establish a reliable CASA system independent of species, and create an online marketplace to exploit synergies from shared reference values and information. Researchers are encouraged to join projects that define species-specific reference values, create knowledge bases, or explore new applications of the CASA solution.

2. The MiBio poject - Goals
Goals:
? Free of charge online solution making motility examinations
possible for a researcher group as wide as possible.
? Establishing a high reliability computer-aided sperm analysis
system providing for analyses independent of species.
? Online platform to exploit the synergy effect implied in the
information stock deriving from different researchers and
research areas.
3. The MiBio poject - Goals
Goals:
? Sharing reference values and information bases applied in our
own researches with other researchers and applying shared
reference values and knowledge bases for our own researches C
all these on online marketplace bases.
? Establishing the CASA solution that is accessible within the
framework of an online service and which provides for immediate
and reliable examinations (2012).

5. Why to join?
Join us if
? you wish to share your knowledge stock related to your research
field with other researchers,
? you wish to examine your samples with reference values set up
by other researchers,
? you think your knowledge stock compiled by you may be relevant
for others as well and thus you or your institute may concert the
invested work into money
6. Projects to join
Project 1.
Defining reference values for different species
1. select a species,
2. define the reference intervals for each of the metrics used in the
system ( e.g. VCL, VSL, LIN etc.),
3. upload the values into the MiBio system and perform control
examinations,
4. share your reference values with the science society on the MiBio
Knowledge Base Market website
7. Projects to join
Project 2.
Creating knowledge bases for different species
1. select a species,
2. prepare good quality images of normal and defective cells
3. trim and qualify images using the MiBio system
4. send us the completed zip file, which you can export easily from the
system or upload it directly at Knowledge Base Market using your
knowledge base
5. we send you the teached knowledge base which you can import into
your system,
6. perform control examinations,
7. share your knowledge base with the science society on the MiBio
Knowledge Base Market website

Project 3.
Exploring new areas of application
After teaching the appropriate knowledge bases the MiBio solution is suitable for
the effective support of other cell analysis-based researches as well - e.g. oocyte
fructification examinations
Send us your ideas,
? how you could use the application to support your research work the best,
? which additional functions may be needed to satisfy your needs in this
particular area!
9. Projects to join
Projects will be divided into sub-projects based on
species and region
I. Fish ? Europe
II. Porcine ? Asia
III. Bovine ? Africa
IV. Equine ? Australia
V. Canine ? North America
VI. Small ruminants ? South America
VII. Human
