The Paper Bag Princess tells the story of a princess whose castle and clothes are destroyed by a dragon. She sets out to rescue her prince Robert, who had gone to fight the dragon. The princess finds the dragon and tricks it into returning Robert by offering it her only remaining possession, a paper bag. Robert is unhappy with the princess' appearance and insults her. Upset, the princess rejects Robert and decides to go her own way instead of marrying him. The story is about a princess who rescues a prince from a dragon but refuses to marry him after he criticizes her appearance.
