The author felt that an English accent would not suit the music video well, so they contacted their American friend on Facebook to record herself narrating the poem instead. Using an American accent for the poem gave the video a different feel that worked better than another accent would have. Like Lana Del Rey's videos, including dialogue before the music added to the overall style. Having social media and the internet made it easy to connect with and share the audio file from their friend across the world.
The poem
- 1. The Poem We felt that the poem was a good idea but an English accent didn’t suit well with the video. I contacted my friend who lives in the USA, via facebook ,and asked her to record herself narrating the poem. I think that this was a good decision and gave the music video a feel that wouldn’t have been the same if another accent was used. It is similar to Lana Del Rey’s videos because she has dialogue before a lot of her music video.
- 2. It wouldn’t have been difficult to have the poem read in the American accent if we didn’t have social media or the internet in general because its almost impossible to connect with people the other side of the world an share files.
