Entrepreneurship in Uganda has evolved over time from a subsistence economy in the early 1900s to one with a growing number of entrepreneurs today. While entrepreneurial activity is high in Uganda compared to other countries, African businesses often remain small and informal. To further support entrepreneurship, Uganda needs improvements in its education system, infrastructure, legal framework, and adoption of technology and skills to increase productivity and the quality of entrepreneurial opportunities.
