The United Kingdom is a sovereign state located off the northwestern coast of Europe consisting of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary system governed from its capital of London. The UK has a highly developed economy and was the world's first industrialized country and leading power in the 19th-early 20th centuries.
