The Wright Brothers and other early aviation pioneers like Alphonse P辿naud, Otto Lilienthal, and Samuel Pierpont Langley experimented with gliders and early aircraft designs. On December 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers succeeded in achieving the first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight, flying their Wright Flyer four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The presentation provided biographical details on the Wright Brothers and other aviation pioneers who contributed to the development of flight.
