The thermal power plant located in Lehra Mohabat, Bathinda, Punjab has one power house containing four 110 MW generating units, totaling 440 MW capacity. It uses canal water for its supply and burns bituminous coal with 3500-4500 kcal/kg as its primary fuel and fuel oil or diesel as secondary fuel. The plant has various labs for instrumentation, protection and interlocking systems, automation, water treatment, furnace safety supervision, and electronics testing.
