24. Desktop Everywhere is your space, namely the space for the appendices of your body that you need to keep out of it.
Telephone, keys, wallet
notebook, knife, headphones
camera, hat, glasses
there are some things that are part of our daily life and that push us ahead, even though they are not ours nor been designed by us. Possessing them forms part of our identity, so that their simple presence can become the symbol for ours.
Desktop Everywhere is the landing ramp of your fundamental objects, as well as the base that helps us to get free from them for a moment and be ourselves.
Lawn, step, windowsill, edge of the precipice:
your space is estabilished by an hexagon of natural cork 20 centimeters wide and 5 millimiters tall, which means getting the most of the area covered with the least possible perymeter and material, for a composable shape easily obtainable from a single layer of corks beautiful bark.
As the ancient Greeks suspected, Marcus Terentius Varro claimed in 36 B.C., bee lovers have always knew and as Charles Darwin himself once wrote referring to honeycombs, the hexagon is a masterpiece of engineering. It is absolutely perfect in economizing labor and material.
You can imitate Desktop Everywhere and do it better, and the same can be done by the richer and by the poorer. On the product can be pyrographed your name, or better nothing.
