For a photography assignment on interpreting the brief "TIME", the student chose to take photos around sunrise at 8am. They looked for foreground objects to create strong silhouettes against the colors of the sunrise. Their best photo used the rule of thirds to position a pylon and the horizon, balanced the dark pylon with the bright sun, and used a fast shutter speed and medium aperture to properly expose the photo and capture the sun rising above the horizon with rays and the pylon silhouetted.
2. Interpretation of brief For the TIME brief I chose to take photographs during the morning around sunrise. At the time of the assignment, sunrise was around 8.00 a.m. I looked for foreground objects to create strong silhouettes to contrast against the colours of the sunrise.
4. Shutter: 1/1333s Aperture: f5 Composition Rule of thirds pylon and horizon approximately placed using rule of thirds. Balance balancing the dark pylon with the bright sun. Exposure fast shutter speed and medium aperture . Exposed for the bright sun, causing the silhouette of the pylon. This is the best shot due to the strong composition and the timing of the photograph to capture the sun as it rises above the horizon. I like the rays from the sun and the association between natural and manmade energy.
