Man tries to think hard over his work attempting to make the bulb light up, he is trying to establish the link between his thoughts and lighting up the bulb Unscrews light bulb, close up on bulb as his eyes scan around the bulb, holds it in his hands bulb still alight, light bulb begins to flicker Now aware that the bulb gives him ideas- close up of his face, mysterious grin. -Looks down at the bulb and begins to plan how he can use the bulb Goes to a big pile of work, walks, tracking, medium shot, looks at the work blank expression, lights up in his hand. -Begins to gain ideas quickly move through the pile of work Once all work is completed- he circles the room, thinking about how else he can use the bulb. Spots the safe in the corner of the room but dismisses the idea- close up on the safe Continues to use bulb to complete all office work at every station not just his own. – Use of jump cuts Diegetic sound of him writing close ups of his face and light bulb whilst he is working He gives into temptation and goes over to the bulb picks it up and goes over to the safe gains an idea of how to open the safeclose up of safe Continues to wander the room trying to think of new ideas of how the bulb can be used (ironic) but still keeps going back to look at the safe and the bulb flickers wildly- shot reverse shot between man and bulb Gains combination to the safe- dark tones built up. Money in safeclose up. Attempts to remove money from the safe . Bulb explodes spark hits money, money burns in his hands (Close Ups)
Protagonist is now captured through carious close ups and eye line matched filling out a crossword, becomes clear to the audience that he is struggling. Group Timeline Discovers the powers of the bulb and is overwhelmed, completes the cross word with ease then begins to scour a newspaper for jobs Cuts to the protagonist on a sofa waiting for an interview, he is scruffily dressed sitting next to another candidate who is far more smartly dressed. Tension and Pace Graph Title screen flickers with non diegetic sound of radio static in the background linking to the title of the piece. The light bulb in the lamp begins to flicker and so the protagonist decides to change the bulb Circles maths job, goes over to book shelf takes down maths book and begins to solve a difficult problem in it, close ups heavily used here and tracking shots to follow his movement. Arrogance grows and grows, pace building ore and more until the bulb breaks under the table and the characters facial expression is captured through a critical close up. Interview sequence commences, pace of scene builds, confidence of protagonist turns to arrogance begins to rant
