 Becoming a caregiver to a senior presents an entirely
new world of responsibilities !
 It can be frightening and overwhelming, but also deeply
ful鍖lling!
 There are a few things to keep in mind when taking on
this new responsibility
Seek Out Community Resources
 Determine exactly what needs
to be done on a daily or weekly
basis !
 Then look into services that can
supplement your care!
 Your community may offer
meal-delivery, adult daycare,
and/or nursing services !
 Get in touch with the local
senior center for speci鍖cs
Watch for Non-Verbal Cues
 Sometimes the person in your
care may be unable to let you
know that they are in distress!
 Keep an eye out for signs of
agitation or discomfort & other
non-verbal cues!
 Their body language may be
telling you things they cannot
vocalize
Be Kind to Yourself
 As a caregiver, it is easy to
ignore your own issues!
 Avoid burning yourself out;
caregiving can and should be a
pleasant experience for both
parties!
 Make sure to exercise, eat, and
relax to maintain a sense of
calm and positivity
