Gurdial Singh, a member of the writer's political party from the village of Mona Khurd, India, emigrated to the United States to escape harassment and potential false imprisonment or harm from the local administration and ruling party due to his party activities. The writer recommends that Gurdial Singh be granted political protection under U.S. human rights laws and the U.N. Charter to avoid future problems if he returns to India, as members of his party are often targeted by the opposition Congress Party through false accusations.
