2. Customizable App Pages
Now you can control when a component appears on a record page by adding filter conditions and logic to
its properties. No need to add anything to your custom components. It is all handled by the Lightning App
Builder. For example, construct a filter that causes a custom component on an opportunity page to
display when the Amount is greater than $1 million.

3. Time Field Type
This feature has been a long time coming. While still in beta, you can use this functionality to track time
unconnected to a specific date. Project managers and event planners will find this feature particularly
useful.
Earlier hack, I’ve had to have time entered as a string value and then parsed into a datetime value (which
of course contains a date that is probably not wanted). It worked, but it’s a clunky, temperamental
solution. Now, we can set up solution to have time entered automatically and stored separately in the
database.
5. Edit More Records at Once with Mass Inline
Editing
You can now update up to 200 records without leaving a list view. Select
multiple records in a list view and then click the edit icon next to the field
you want to update. Enter the new value for the field, and click Apply to
update the selected records
6. Configure navigation rules to open related
records in Console Apps
Configure navigation rules to open related records in Console Apps. Currently, each object is
setup as a workspace, you can now configure it via App Manager | Navigation Rules to show as a
subtab of another object.
8. Retain More Debug Logs for Longer
Salesforce has changed the way that they delete old debug logs. Now they
retain debug logs for 7 days. You can generate a total of 250 MB of debug
logs in a 15-minute window. When your org is upgraded to Winter ’18, all
logs that are at least 7 days old are deleted.
Previously, you could generate up to 50 MB of debug logs. Salesforce kept
them indefinitely, deleting the oldest log each time that you exceeded the
limit. Salesforce has removed the 50 MB limit and changed to a 7-day
storage limit
9. One Community, with a Different Look for Each
Audience
With branding sets, you can change the appearance and style of your community pages based on
the audience viewing the page. No need to create individual communities for each customer or
business need. Now you build your community once, and simply style it differently for each
audience.
Branding sets take advantage of criteria-based audiences in the same way as page variations.
Just as you can create several page variations and target them at different audiences, you can
create different sets of branding properties to produce a unique look and feel for specific
audiences.
10. Launch a Flow from an Object-Specific Action
(Beta)
Visual workflow, easy way because it is one of the most powerful ways to automate business processes.
As of now, there are several ways through which you can trigger Flow. After Winter’18 release, you will
also be able to trigger a flow from an object specific action.
You can now add flows to the action menu on your Lightning pages without hunting down the flow’s URL.
When you create a flow action, you can pick from a list of available flows rather than enter the flow URL
manually. To work as a flow action, a flow must be active and have screens.

To enable Out of Office message for your org, click on the Setup | Chatter Settings | Out of Office and
select Users can set Out of Office messages checkbox
