WHAT TO CONSIDER
QUALITY
Don’t make a decision based on
price alone. Be sure to check out
the quality of their work examples
and compare price Vs quality. It’s
important to base your own opinion
on the their work.
TIME TO COMPLETE
Consider how long you think a task will take
to complete. Then add on an extra week for task
deadlines. That way you won’t be disappointed if
the deadline is not met.
Cost
Set aside your budget and
stick to it. Don’t just go for
the cheapest freelancer,
consider quality and cost
impact. Ask yourself – is it
worth it?
Testimonials
Be careful of fake reviews. When using
freelancers it is sometimes best to go for
those with lots of reviews. Read the
feedback and see what others think.
Task Complexity
Is your task complex? You will need to
write out instrucitons for the freelancer for
what it is you want them to do. Put yourself
in their shoes – break it down to make the
task easier to understand.

PROS
Lower Financial
Risk
Entrepreneurs only need to hire and
pay freelancers when there's work to
be done. Almost all freelancing is
done on an hourly or a project-by-
project basis, so you'll never have to
worry about digging yourself in a
hole financially in terms of payroll
during "down times".
They Specialise
Freelancers typically specialise in
one thing, and that is what you hire
them for usually, but you can find
ones that have a wide range of skills.
Lots of Options
With many platforms, hiring
freelancers has gone from being a
painstaking process to a relatively
speedy one. Comparing is easy and
you can usually find what you are
looking for within an hour.
They Cost Less
Freelancers undoubtedly cost less
than hiring a part-time or full-time
employee. At the very least, they are
much more cost efficient, because you
only pay them for the work they
actually do. Although you may want to
consider hiring from the Philippines as
they cost less and have great values.

Initial Risk
In the very beginning, you have to
take a risk when hiring freelancers.
Will their work be the quality they
claim?
Lack of Supervision
Given most freelancing is done remotely, there's truly
no way to know whether or not 2 of those 10 hours
your freelancer billed were spent working hard or
scrolling through Instagram and watching YouTube
videos.
Lack of comitment
Almost all freelancers are juggling
multiple projects at once, so their
loyalty to your brand is probably
lower than a full-time employee.
They Can Dissapear
Freelancers don’t have as much of a problem
disappearing as your normal employees do.
This is especially true with distance freelancers,
meaning those who work through the Internet.
Lack of Ability
Every company is different. As a
business owner, you know better
than anybody there are nuances to
your company that only could be
figured out by working at the
company. By not having the ability to
properly train and onboard a
freelancer, they may be missing out
on crucial details which may be seen
as second nature to a full-time
employee.
