The document discusses the results of a Teaching Perspectives Inventory (TPI) questionnaire taken by the author. The TPI measures 5 teaching perspectives: Transmission, Apprenticeship, Developmental, Nurturing, and Social Reform. Based on the results, the author's dominant perspective is Apprenticeship. This means students learn best by working on real-world tasks with guidance from the teacher. The author's weakest perspectives are Nurturing, Developmental, Transmission, and Social Reform. The conclusion states teachers should understand their perspectives but also apply a mix to accommodate different student learning styles.

If teachers know what their perspectives are, they can adequate their teaching according to the content and the way students learn. The purpose of TPI is to measure 5 perspectives which are: Transmission, Apprenticeship, Developmental, Nurturing and Social Reform. These perspectives can help teachers to collect their thoughts and summarize their ideas and beliefs about teaching. They can be useful in examining your own teaching as well as helping clarify the teaching views of other people. In order to know your Teaching Perspectives you have to take an on line questionnaire that contains 45 questions.
The TIP results.
Transmission total: (Tr) 33.00B=12; I=7; A=14Apprenticeship total: (Ap) 40.00B=12; I=15; A=13Developmental total: (Dv) 35.00B=13; I=13; A=9Nurturance total: (Nu) 38.00B=13; I=14; A=11Social Reform total: (SR) 31.00B=8; I=13; A=10----------------------Beliefs total: (B) 58.00Intention total: (I) 62.00Action total: (A) 57.00----------------------Mean: (M) 35.40Standard Deviation: (SD) 3.26HiT: (HiT) 39.00LoT: (LoT) 32.00----------------------Overall Total: (T) 177.00
According to the results I have a dominant Apprenticeship Teaching Perspective. This means that students can learn by working on tasks in real settings of application or practice. I consider that is better if I as a teacher teach contents that I mastered before because they would be easier to teach and students can understand them better. In this type of perspective I should know the learning style of the students in order to teach contents according to the ways they learn. In the first classes, I guide students in order they can learn easily and quickly and then it is not necessary my guidance because they become independent in their learning.
I have recessive Perspectives such as: Nurturing, Developmental, Transmission and Social reform which means that I can combine these ideologies to teach in a
Teaching Perspectives Profile:IndividualTransmissionApprenticeshipDevelopmentalNurturingSocial ReformTr:33Ap:40Dv:35Nu:38SR:31B:12, I:7, A:14B:12, I:15, A:13B:13, I:13, A:9B:13, I:14, A:11B:8, I:13, A:10454545454544444444444343434343424242424241414141414040404040Your scores at or above this line (39) are your DOMINANT perspective(s).39393939393838383838373737373736363636363535≒35≒35353434≒34≒343433≒33≒33≒333332≒32≒32≒3232Your scores at or below this line (32) are your RECESSIVE perspective(s).31≒31≒31≒31≒31≒30≒30≒30≒30≒30≒29≒29≒29≒29≒29≒28≒28≒28≒28≒28≒27≒27≒27≒27≒27≒26≒26≒26≒26≒26≒25≒25≒25≒25≒25≒24≒24≒24≒24≒24≒23≒23≒23≒23≒23≒22≒22≒22≒22≒22≒21≒21≒21≒21≒21≒20≒20≒20≒20≒20≒19≒19≒19≒19≒19≒18≒18≒18≒18≒18≒17≒17≒17≒17≒17≒16≒16≒16≒16≒16≒15≒15≒15≒15≒15≒14≒14≒14≒14≒14≒13≒13≒13≒13≒13≒12≒12≒12≒12≒12≒11≒11≒11≒11≒11≒10≒10≒10≒10≒10≒9≒9≒9≒9≒9TransmissionApprenticeshipDevelopmentalNurturingSocial Reform
CONCLUSION
Teachers must know their teaching perspectives but most important they must apply a mix of them in classrooms because every student is different and learn in his own way as well.
