SYSTEM OF EVALUATION AND AWARD OF DEGPJE (BE / B.PHARMf
On the basis.of hisfter pedotmance in examinations, assignments, practical exam (if any) student is awarded a
grade, These grades are described by the letters AA, AB, BB etc. and have a numerical equivalent called the
glade point as given belowl
The medium oflnstruction is English.-
The grade FF is taken into consideration while calculating SPI & CPI, however, these will be replaced only after
the clearance of the subject with the passing gmde.
The performance of the student in a semester is indicated by a number
The SPI is the weighted average of the grade points obtained in all
semester.
Exampler Suppose in a given semester a student has taken subjects having credits Cl, C2, C3, C4,
C5 ..... And the numerical equivalent of grades obtained in those subjects are Gl,G2,C3,G4,G5...... respectively.
Then his/ her SPI will be calculated (after re-examination, if any) up to two decimal illaces on the.basis ofthe final
grades.
An up-to-date assessment from the time the student entered the course is obtained by caiculating Cumulat;ve
Pefomance index (CPI). The CPI is the weighted average ofthe grade poinrs obtained in allthe subjects taken by the
student since he/she entered the course. lt is calculated in the same manner as the SPI. The CCPA is the w€ighted
average offie gade points obtained in all the subjeots in the last four semester of the course.
Backlog indicates failure in respective subjects. For continuation of study maximum 4 backlogs are permitted,
excluding backlog in immediate previous semester.

WI_NO: Winter examinations held in year (Odd semester Reguiar/Even semester Remedial)
SU_NO: Summer examination held in year (Even semester Regular/Odd semester Remedial)
ADMISSION: Regular: 12s science passed entry at lstyear

An equation to find equivalency between CPI/CGPA may be obtained as follow:
Percentage Marks : (CPVCGPA
- 0.5) x 10.
CPVCGPA Equivalent Class shall be as follow:
CPVCGPA 5.5 & above 6.5 & above 7.1 & above
CLASS Pass class Second class First class First class with distinction
For all counes, where the duration ofthe course is more than 2 years, the degree shall be a{,arded to the students
on the basis ofCGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Avemge) ofthe last four semesteris performance in the exams.
In case ofthe courses where duration is oftwo yeals, the degree shall be conferred to students based upon CpI
