Treatment Broadcast and Print Task
Broadcast  • I intend to produce the first few opening scenes • Fly on the wall documentary • Based on education in college • 'Educating Yorkshire' and 'Educating East-End' • Green screen interviews with the characters and scenes of lessons
Print  • Create a front cover and two further pages • For the documentary • Question and answer interviews with the characters  • Section of what will happen in the weekly episode
Genre/Sub-genre  • The genre of both my magazine and TV programme is: • Reality TV  • i will also include some comedy 
Generic Conventions  • Background music • Confessionals by the characters • Narration • Fly on the wall camera shots • Unique characteristics
Audience  • Students who study at schools, college or university (16-20)
 • Adults aged 20-34 as they are interested in younger generation programmes • I can aim it at this audience by using: • colloquial language, music that this audience is interested in and not too formal.  
Institution  • The institution I would be working for is Silver Lining Productions. • This is a multi-media production company that has had recent television success with fly on the wall documentaries. •  I found out that Channel 4 operates a wide variety of online and broadband services that cover:
 • Entertainment, Health, Education, Information •
Influences  • I am basing my programme around: • 'Educating Yorkshire' and 'Educating East-End' • Magazines such as HEAT and OK influenced: • The question and answers interview that I will include in my magazine
Titles etc  • At the beginning of my programme I will have a title of the name of it • I will use text to tell the audience the date, time and names of the cast • In my magazine I will have a clear layout of interviews around the sides  • I will have a place in the middle for the details on the weekly episode •
Characters  • I will have: • The main students who the 2 minutes will be about • The extras- students to set the scene • The teacher of the lesson • The headteacher
Settings/Locations  • I will set my main scenes in a college • I will use a green screen idea for the interviews with the cast • I will use an office for the interview with the headteacher • I will use Middlesbrough College for the establishing shot
Props etc  • The students will be in their own clothes and the staff will be formal  • There will be classroom accessories such as paper, whiteboard, pens etc • The girls will have a lot of makeup to set the scene for typical teenagers • Headphones/phones will be used for bad behaviour etc • Desks, tables, chairs for the typical classroom environment
Image/Lighting  • It will all be natural lighting as it is in a normal environment  • The camera shots will mainly be fly on the wall  • The interviews will be medium shots  • The main cover image of the characters will be medium shots  •
Sound  • Normal, noisy environment  • Dialogue for lessons and interviews • Narration of the scene  • Background music to meet genre of reality TV •
Editing and effects  • I will edit the scenes by adding text of the cast's names • I will had fades from the scene to an interview  • I will edit my music so it fades in and fades out  • I will add text for the date and the name of the programme
