Essential tremor presents as a bilateral action tremor of the hands and head that improves with alcohol. Parkinson's disease features a resting tremor of the hands and legs with a "pill-rolling" motion and other parkinsonian signs. Cerebellar tremor presents as an action tremor that increases in amplitude as the hand reaches its target, along with ataxia, dysmetria, or a gait disorder.
